Halldale operates in the B2B media and events space but considers itself a training and simulation company. Its focus is on providing information on best practices in training, training and simulation technologies to all safety critical enterprises, globally. It does so via live, and virtual events, print, digital and electronic formats for all devices and platforms at all times.
Since the launch of Military Simulation and Training (MS&T) Magazine 35 years ago, Halldale founder and publisher Andy Smith has focused on S&T as a primary business, it is now the sole focus of the Halldale Team. 2020 marks the thirtieth year of Civil Aviation Training (CAT) Magazine, itself an outgrowth of MS&T when a group of airlines and industry requested a magazine that could spread the growing, new airline training regimes to the world’s airlines.
Halldale has a worldwide network of content providers and subject matter experts with decades of S&T experience as operators of high value equipment or builders of devices and training systems.

Our Publications
The Journal for Civil Aviation Training (CAT) is the world’s leading magazine for airline simulation and training. Since 1990 it has showcased the latest training practices for pilots, cabin crew and maintainers throughout the civil airline industry. Published six times a year, each issue of the magazine contains at least five major articles on training from around the world, along with an extended news and analysis section, event reviews and an industry calendar.
CAT Magazine supports the global airline training community with comprehensive coverage of international airline training challenges and effective training solutions, and has a global distribution of nearly 19,000 copies every issue, in 200 countries and territories.
Military Simulation & Training (MS&T) magazine has been the leading simulation and training publication for the global defence industry for more than three decades. MS&T is characterized by high-quality, independent editorial content, created by an international team of editors and writers who apply their wealth of knowledge and industry experience to showcase issues and innovations which help world militaries shape their visions and identify best practices.
Four editions of the magazine are produced annually, incorporating analytical features, industry news, conference previews and reports, and coverage of recent events.

Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS)
APATS delivers a focused, executive-level analysis of the Asia Pacific airline training and simulation market. This dynamic event provokes debate through engaging presentations and outstanding networking opportunities. It therefore provides attendees with an exciting opportunity to share their experiences and question regional and global training experts. The event covers pilot, cabin crew and maintenance training. In addition to the three conferences, this event hosts an exhibition and the APATS Heads of Training meeting.

World Aviation Training Summit (WATS)
WATS is the world’s largest gathering of aviation training professionals serving airlines, regulators, training providers and training industry with more than 1,200 delegates from 50+ countries attending. WATS offers a relaxed yet professional environment conducive to developing new and building existing business relationships. WATS offers unrivaled opportunities to meet with your peers from the senior echelons of the international airline training community, to discuss the latest training issues and consider and learn how others have addressed and resolved these scenarios.

European Airline Training Symposium (EATS)
EATS explores European expertise in flight training and simulation with the added support of EASA. Most importantly the event provides a unique European perspective on civil aviation training and subsequently attracts the leading aviation training professionals from around the globe. In addition to the conferences covering pilot and cabin crew training, the event hosts an exhibition. Furthermore, the event holds the annual EATS Heads of Training meeting, which allows attendees to learn and discuss the current and future rulemaking with EASA’s Head of Aircrew Regulations Section

Asian Aviation Education & Training Symposium (AAETS)
AAETS is an Official Event of the South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MoLIT) and Korea Airports Corporation (KAC). The event is regarded as Korea’s leading conference and tradeshow for the international aviation training community. As a result of the rapid evolution in training technology, there must be careful evaluation and selection of training processes in order to provide adapted training for new entrants and experienced operators alike.
